FAQs
Antique is a soft greyish cream — a light, neutral beige with gentle tonal variation. It's one of our most versatile shades, brightening a space and suiting modern, coastal and traditional gardens alike.
When freshly laid, it appears more grey than beige but once the tannin process stabilizes after a few months, it tends to lighten in colour.
Our composite boards are engineered to resist UV fading. You may see very slight, even lightening in the first few months as the boards settle, after which the colour stays stable.
Due to the lighter colour, antique composite decking stays relatively cool compared to other darker boards.
None of the usual timber upkeep — no oiling, staining or sanding. An occasional wash with warm soapy water and a soft brush is all it takes.
Concerns about slipperiness often deter people from choosing composite decking, especially in wet conditions. However, modern composite decking solutions are designed with slip-resistant surfaces to provide a safe outdoor environment for your family and guests.
Some products, like our reversible Core range, even feature textured finishes that enhance traction, making them ideal for areas prone to moisture or high foot traffic. With proper installation and maintenance, slipping on composite decking is no more of a concern than with traditional wood decks.
At minimum: joists for the sub-frame, and fixing clips to secure the boards. Fascia and trim give a finished edge. All are available colour-matched in antique — use the Complete the System tool on any board product page to get the exact quantities.
